Bonzo Crunch’s comedic juggling & magic show is perfect for birthday parties! The birthday boy/girl receives a personalized birthday card from Bonzo Crunch and is treated like a star as Bonzo begins and ends the show by playing a rousing rendition of “Happy Birthday” on his harmonica. His comic magic and juggling show is entertaining for adults as well as the children, so parents are encouraged to be a part of the audience and have a nice experience to share with their children. Bonzo Crunch spins and juggles pizzas, and the magic part of the show starts out with coat hangers that become impossibly tangled and untangled, and continues with ropes that behave in unpredictable ways, a newspaper that retains it's for after having been torn to shreds, bottles that multiply out of control, and more!

Due to the coronavirus the show has been temporarily modified to exclude on-stage audience participation or indoor shows in crowded rooms. Due to ongoing covid concerns, Bonzo Crunch is offering a “Social Distance Sidewalk Circus” where he wheels his cart full of props up to your house and performs in the driveway, street, sidewalk or patio. Performances can also be staged in an open garage or well ventilated large room.

Performances are typically booked for 1/2 hour or 45 minutes.

As a former teacher’s aid at a Montessori school, Rik ("Bonzo Crunch") learned to be sensitive to the needs of the little ones as well as their caregivers. He begins his day care performances on the mellow side, with a fun ukulele introduction. As all the children are brought into the fold, Bonzo Crunch escalates the comedy and allows the children to laugh off excess energy before bringing his show to a calm conclusion, leaving the staff with a group of happy, well-behaved children.

Bonzo Crunch brings laughter and cheer to patients and staff in hospitals and senior centers. With his ukulele in hand and a little magic in his pocket, Bonzo Crunch understands that every person has unique needs in a given moment - especially when faced with illness or long-term care. He uses his extensive experience to customize visits to improve the mood and meet the needs of each individual.

As a lifelong “bookworm” Bonzo Crunch takes special joy in performing for libraries. In addition to his popular vaudeville style magic, music and juggling show, Bonzo Crunch emphasizes not only the importance of reading, but the value of the library as a community resource and the special role of the librarian as a liaison between the community and the wonderful world of books.  He begins with a gentle ukulele introduction; as the children are brought into the fold, he escalates the comedy and allows the children to laugh off excess energy before bringing his show to a calm conclusion, leaving the staff with a group of happy, well-behaved children. You will be charmed by his reading of “Olivia Saves The Circus”.

After spending two years traveling coast to coast promoting Ringling Brothers Barnum and Bailey Circus – The Greatest Show On Earth – Bonzo Crunch is ready to help your company or organization shine and capture the imagination of “children of all ages”!

Bonzo Crunch brings a taste of the circus to your school! His assembly programs are a big hit for students and faculty alike, and can fit into your time frame.

After demonstrating the skills in person during a brief or full-length performance as "Bonzo Crunch", Rik ("Bonzo Crunch") offers a workshop in reading body language with an emphasis on comedy and clowning, using movement to express emotion, and understanding how your body language is interpreted by others. The workshop stresses the ways to use observation, such as that in the nature of a clown’s humor, in a spirit of lightheartedness that allows participants to make fun of themselves rather than others. “Observe others, observe yourself, and observe how others see you”.

Bonzo Crunch also offers an exciting juggling workshop!
